Review: The One

The One The One by John Marrs
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. Thank you to all who made that possible.

I am still reeling from this book! I said in a Facebook post that I can’t remember the last time I said WTF so many times while reading. This book was so much more than what I was expecting. I have not read this author’s work before. Apparently I need to. I entered to win this book based on my interest from reading the description. I find dating sites and their methods of matching people fascinating. I figured the book would be an interesting look at that. When I received the book and flipped through it, I noted the book was broken up by chapters of characters. I thought I would be annoyed by that but the author orchestrates that very well. Following each character was easy as the chapters are identified. If you want to skip someone it is easy to do. I wouldn’t recommend it as every story was interesting and has surprises. It started out pretty much as I thought. Then it stepped up. I would fall asleep with the book open. An hour or so later I would wake up and dive back in. I hated the times I was forced to stop and participate in real life, (I love you family but some books...what can I say?). I came to the end and, even though it wrapped up, I wanted more.

There is so much more I want to talk about with this book but I truly hate reviews that tell everything. What’s the sense in reading the book if the reviewer told you everything? You know why I chose it. You know a bit of my thoughts and that I recommend it. I’ll let you go read it now.
