Theme Thursday: Rock 'n'Roll is Undead & Review of Lord of The Vampires

Summer Giveaway Hop Enter Here

Theme Thursdays is a fun weekly event that will be open from one thursday to the next. Anyone can participate in it. The rules are simple:
  • A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday’s)
  • Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
  • Mention the author and the title of the book along with your post
  • It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)
Ex: If the theme is KISS; your sentence can have “They kissed so gently” or “Their lips touched each other” or “The smooch was so passionate”
This week’s theme is

LOCATION (reference to the location where the story is happening)

Rock 'n' Roll is Undead (Veronica Mason, Book 1)

Buzz was probably on the lookout for a strange man and I had my eye on the strange car driving slowly down the street in front of the diner. That skull on the dash seemed to watch me as it passed. The loud roar had caught my attention. Like an engine revving at race day in Talladega, the sound echoed in my head. Muted chrome and dull gray flashed by in a blur. The noise from the hot rod faded as it drove down the street, passing another car and fading from sight. Seeing the same car more than once in a town the size of Memphis was unlikely.

Rock 'n' Roll is Undead (Veronica Mason Series, Book 1) (Kindle Locations 1536-1540). Rose Pressey.

Review Book

Lord of the Vampires (Royal House of Shadows Series)
Lord of The Vampires By Gena Showalter is the first book in the sizzling hot new series Royal House of Shadows brought to you by Harlequin Nocturne. Expected publication date is September 1, 2011. I received this book for review from the publisher.

From GoodReads:

Once upon a time…the Blood Sorcerer vanquished the kingdom of Elden.
To save their children, the queen scattered them to safety and the king filled them with vengeance.
Only a magical timepiece connects the four royal heirs…and time is running out.…
Nicolai the Vampire was renowned for his virility, but in a twist of fate "The Dark Seducer" had become a sex slave in the kingdom of Delfina—stripped of his precious timepiece and his memory. All that remained was a primal need for freedom, revenge—and the only woman who could help him.
In her dreams, a wanton vampire called to Jane Parker, drawing her to his dark sexuality and his magical realm.
But for a human, all was not a fairy tale in Delfina. Jane was the key to Nicolai's memory…but exploiting her meant dooming the only mortal he craved.

My Review

I need a new Kindle. Why you ask. Because Gena Showalter scorched mine with Lord of the Vampires! This steamy romance is filled with drama and heart pounding action. This book is HOT!  Gena Showalter has written a superbly intoxicating novel that will have you either not daring to breathe or unable to breathe. Prepare properly for reading this book. Disconnected the phone, put a do not disturb sign on the door; grab your favorite decadent food and a bottle of chilled favorite beverage. You will be drawn into Delfina, you will become Jane Parker and you will be romanced by Nicolai. Come and let Harlequin Nocturne seduce you with a new series!

I am starting Book 2 Lord of Rage by Jill Monroe. Here is the cover. Book is due out September 20, 2011.
